Introductory Information about Andy

"I have lived with my wife Sally and daughter Isobel in Redbourn since 2016 and was delighted to have been co-opted onto Redbourn Parish Council in May 2023.

My roots are in Southeast London, but I have lived in Hertfordshire for nearly 30 years, 20 of those years in St Albans.

Until 2021 I worked for a large pharmaceutical company (GSK) for 36 years, half of my time in science, the other half in IT. I have a degree in Biological Sciences & a master's degree in computer science. I currently work part time for a software company in Redbourn creating products for the not-for-profit charity sector.

I have a keen interest in politics, music (play guitar badly) & many sports (lifelong Arsenal & Surrey cricket supporter) and am a firm believer in the positive contribution communities can make to society having chaired Friends groups in the past.

I am currently an active member of the Redbourn Friends of the High Street (FOTHS) and make regular phone calls to isolated and lonely individuals through the Communities 1st charity.

I am incredibly happy to have been given the opportunity to be a Parish Councillor & really look forward to serving Redbourn & the community."
