When a person suffers a sudden cardiac arrest these simple portable electronic devices can be used to deliver an electric current through the chest with the aim of shocking the heart back into its normal rhythm again. The Defibrillators have been specially designed to be used by people with no medical background. Users are guided through the whole process step-by-step via voice commands and on screen messages and the machine will only shock a person without a heartbeat.
