Introductory Information about Sarah

"I was brought up in Surrey and trained as a primary school teacher at Oxford Brookes University. After getting married my husband and I chose Hertfordshire as our home county. We moved to Redbourn in 2003 after a chance visit; we loved the village vibe and beautiful common and decided this was a perfect location to bring up our two children who are now in their teens.

I have worked in a number of local schools and county libraries over the years. I currently run The Little Redbourn Book Hub, a free open air book swap on my front path which was set up in lockdown while the local library was closed. At this time, I also set up a sewing circle to make items for staff working for the NHS and local care homes. I have volunteered at the primary school and library, I am Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator and OWL representative for my street, volunteer for my school's PTA and organise an annual Pumpkin Trail for children and parents in October.

I now teach part time in a local school and when not working I enjoy singing in two choirs, performing at local and national events and on tours internationally.

I am delighted to have been co-opted onto Redbourn Parish Council in June 2022 and look forward to continuing to serve the community in this new role. I am passionate about Redbourn and want to contribute actively towards keeping our village the lovely place that it is."
